PV-ISU Inverter and step-up integrated box-type substation

Overview

The inverter and step-up integrated box-type substation belongs to the field of substation equipment. It was developed to overcome the drawbacks of using two separate sets of equipment for DC inversion and AC step-up in a PV power system: the larger volume of site work and the higher electrical losses.

The unit comprises a low-voltage section, a high-voltage section and a transformer section. Its distinguishing layout is that the low-voltage and high-voltage sections are arranged one behind the other, with the transformer section located to the left or right of them. The low-voltage section collects the direct current generated by the PV system and inverts it to alternating current; the transformer section raises the low-voltage AC to high voltage; and the high-voltage section provides protection and metering for the high-voltage AC output.

In this way the integrated substation converts the energy produced by the PV modules, through inversion and step-up, into stable, usable electrical energy.
