Overview

The GCS low-voltage draw-out switchgear was designed and developed under the Ministry of Electric Power Industry and the Ministry of Machinery Industry to meet the requirements of the industry authorities, power utilities and design institutes. It is suited to Chinese operating conditions, offers high technical performance, meets the development needs of the power market and competes with existing imported products; the design has been recognised and endorsed by both manufacturers and power users.

The switchgear is intended for power plants, substations, petrochemical facilities, industrial and mining enterprises, metallurgical and textile plants, high-rise buildings and other sites with a high degree of automation that require a computer interface. It serves as a complete low-voltage assembly for power distribution, centralised motor control and reactive power compensation in three-phase AC generation and supply systems at 50 Hz, with a rated operating voltage of 400 V and rated operating currents up to 4000 A. The degree of protection is up to IP40.

The switchgear complies with the national standard GB/T 7251.1 'Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies – Part 1: General rules', the industry standard JB/T 9661 'Low-voltage draw-out switchgear assemblies' and the international standard IEC 61439-1 'Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies – Part 1: General rules'.

Features

  • The cabinet frame is assembled from KS profiles (KB profiles can also be used) on a standard 20 mm module; the enclosure is pickled, phosphated and electrostatically powder-coated, while the internal partitions and drawers are galvanised and passivated. The functional compartments are isolated from one another and divided into the functional-unit compartment, the busbar compartment and the cable compartment. Each compartment operates largely independently, preventing contact with live parts of adjacent functional units and limiting the spread of a fault.

Applications

  • Power plants and substations
  • Petrochemical facilities
  • Industrial and mining enterprises
  • Metallurgical and textile plants
  • High-rise buildings
  • Motor control centres (MCC)
  • Reactive power compensation
