S13 Oil-immersed distribution transformer
- 6 / 6.3 / 10 kV → 0.4 kV
- 30 – 2500 kVA
The TMG-250 (factory model S13-M-250) is a hermetic oil-immersed 250 kVA, 10 (6) / 0.4 kV distribution transformer for one building with its own substation: an apartment block, school, clinic or small plant. Rated LV current is 361 A, output is 225 kW at cos φ 0.9, and the 290 W no-load loss runs even when idle. We send the price and offer on request within 24 hours.

Rated current is calculated as I = S / (√3 · U). The short-circuit current is taken as the LV rated current divided by uk, neglecting the supply network impedance. Network and cable impedance lower the actual current, while the uk tolerance (±10 %) and the IEC 60909 voltage factor can raise it by roughly 10 %, so select the breaking capacity of circuit breakers from the short-circuit calculation of the project.
The amorphous-alloy core of the SH15 cuts the no-load loss by 52 % compared with the S13. For one 250 kVA transformer this saves about 1314 kWh per year, because no-load loss is present the whole time the transformer is energised, regardless of the load.

Efficiency is calculated from the catalogue losses: η = P / (P + P₀ + β²·Pk), where P = β·S·cos φ is the output active power and β is the load factor.
A 250 kVA unit is typically chosen to supply a single mid-sized building or site from its own substation: an apartment building, a school or clinic, a small production unit or a wholesale warehouse. It feeds lighting, ventilation, lifts, pumps and process equipment, with headroom for seasonal load peaks. The hermetically sealed corrugated tank with vacuum oil filling keeps the oil out of contact with the atmosphere, which suits substations that are not permanently staffed.
Start from the calculated load. For continuous operation it is sensible to load a transformer to 70–80%, which for the TMG-250 means 158–180 kW at cos φ 0.9. That margin absorbs the starting of lift, pump and compressor motors and several years of load growth. If the actual load is well below 158 kW and no growth is expected, the TMG-160 is more economical, with lower no-load loss and capital cost. If the design load already exceeds 180 kW, or a production extension is planned, take the TMG-400 now rather than replacing the transformer in a few years.
Choose the vector group by the nature of the load. Apartment buildings, schools and clinics have many single-phase loads, so the phases are loaded unevenly and third-harmonic currents flow in the neutral. Dyn11 is preferred here: it copes better with unbalanced loading, circulates third harmonics in the delta HV winding and gives a larger single-phase fault current, helping protection operate reliably on long 0.4 kV feeders. Yyn0 remains the traditional choice where the load is mainly three-phase and the neutral lightly loaded, as in a pump station or a workshop with electric motors. The TMG-250 load loss is 3200 W with Dyn11 and 3050 W with Yyn0.
Then choose the loss level. No-load loss is incurred all 8760 hours a year regardless of load, so at low average loading the amorphous SH15-M-250 is the better choice: 140 W instead of 290 W for the S13, 52% less. This is typical of schools, offices and warehouses without refrigeration, where the transformer is almost idle at night, at weekends and during holidays. The SH15 is built with Dyn11 as standard; with a three-phase three-limb core, Yyn0 can also be supplied on request, so state it in your inquiry if you need it. With a high, steady load, such as a two-shift workshop or a warehouse with cold rooms, the standard S13 remains a sound choice, and projects requiring energy-efficiency grade 1 to GB 20052-2020 can use the S-M-NX1.
The 250 kVA transformer is also supplied as part of a compact substation: ZGS American-type pad-mounted substation (KTPN), up to 1600 kVA, or YB European-type substation (BKTP / GKTP), up to 2500 kVA. The substation is assembled and tested at the factory, so the site work mainly comes down to setting it in place and connecting the cables.
The TMG-250 (S13-M-250) has an LV rated current of 361 A at 0.4 kV. On the HV side the rated current is 14.4 A at 10 kV and 24.1 A at 6 kV. These values are the starting point for selecting the LV main breaker and cables and the HV fuses or relay protection; the actual protection settings are determined in the project design according to the nature of the load.
At full load the TMG-250 delivers 225 kW of active power at cos φ 0.9 (200 kW at cos φ 0.8 and 238 kW at cos φ 0.95). For continuous operation with a margin for motor starting and load growth, a loading of 70–80% is recommended, which is 158–180 kW at cos φ 0.9. If the design load is higher, consider the TMG-400.
The price of the TMG-250 (S13-M-250) is given only on request. It depends on the HV voltage (10, 6.3 or 6 kV), the vector group Yyn0 or Dyn11, the loss level (S13, amorphous SH15 or energy-efficient S-M-NX1), options and the delivery terms (FOB, CIF or DAP Tashkent). A technical and commercial offer is sent within 24 hours (one business day) of your request via the website form, sales@lalogo.uz, Telegram or WhatsApp.
A standard TMG-250 is manufactured within 20–35 days of the advance payment; delivery to Tashkent by rail or road via Khorgos or Alashankou and Kazakhstan usually takes 15–25 days. Each unit is supplied with a routine test report, a passport and operation manual in Russian and English, drawings, a packing list and a certificate of origin. A statement of compliance with GOST / O‘zDSt is prepared on request.
The TMG-250 is a typical choice for a school, kindergarten or clinic with its own substation when the design load is about 158–180 kW at cos φ 0.9, which is 70–80% loading with headroom for starting pumps and ventilation. With so many single-phase loads (lighting, computers, sockets), choose Dyn11. Such a building is almost idle at night, at weekends and during holidays, so the amorphous SH15-M-250, with 140 W no-load loss instead of 290 W, pays off well here; it is built with Dyn11 as standard, and Yyn0 can be supplied on request with a three-limb core.
The calculated three-phase short-circuit current at the LV terminals of the TMG-250, at the nominal short-circuit impedance uk of 4% and an infinite (zero-impedance) supply, is about 9.0 kA. The real maximum can be roughly 10% higher because of the ±10% tolerance on uk and the IEC 60909 voltage factor, while the impedance of the 10 kV network, busbars and cables lowers it. Confirm the breaking capacity of the 0.4 kV circuit breakers with the project short-circuit calculation, or choose it with a margin above 9.0 kA.
